Privacy Policy

Dream Self ("we", "our", or "the app") is a vision board and goal tracking app that helps you visualize and manifest your dreams. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we receive:

• Email address — used to create and identify your account
• Display name — shown in your profile
• Profile photo — if provided by your sign-in provider (Google), may be used for your in-app profile

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. When signing in with Apple, your email may be relayed through Apple's private relay service. Passwords are never stored in plaintext — they are managed securely by Supabase Auth.

User-Created Content

Content you create within the app, including:

• Visions (titles, descriptions, photos, steps, categories)
• Notes and manifestos
• Profile preferences and settings

This content is stored on your device and synced to our cloud database (hosted by Supabase) so it persists across sessions.

Photos and Images

• Vision photos — stored on your device and in your account
• Reference photos for AI generation — temporarily sent to Google's Gemini API for processing (see Section 3)
• AI-generated images — stored locally on your device

Push Notifications

If you enable Daily Sparks (push notifications), we collect:

• Expo Push Token — a device identifier used to deliver notifications through Expo's push notification service
• Notification preferences — your chosen delivery time and timezone

You can disable notifications at any time in Settings → Daily Sparks or in your device's notification settings. We do not share push tokens with third parties beyond Expo's infrastructure.

Usage Data

• Credit balance and generation history — tracked to manage your AI generation allowance
• Notification delivery logs — retained briefly for debugging and improving delivery reliability

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

3. AI Image Generation

Our "Future Me" feature lets you generate AI-powered visualizations of your future self. When you use this feature:

• Your uploaded reference photos and dream description are sent to Google's Gemini API for image generation
• Photos are compressed before transmission and used solely for generating your requested image
• We do not store your reference photos on our servers after processing
• Generated images are saved locally on your device
• Google's use of data sent to the Gemini API is governed by Google's Privacy Policy

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Local storage: Visions, notes, and preferences are stored on your device using encrypted key-value storage (MMKV). Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain via Expo SecureStore.
• Cloud storage: Account data and user content are stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS), protected by Row Level Security policies that ensure you can only access your own data.
• Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

6. Data Retention

• Your account data is retained as long as your account is active
• AI generation logs are retained for credit tracking and service improvement
• If you delete your account, all associated cloud data will be removed within 30 days
• Locally stored data is removed when you uninstall the app

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored in the app
• Rectify your personal data to correct inaccuracies or incomplete information
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Export your data upon request
• Restrict processing of your data in specific situations — contact us for details
• Opt out of AI features — the Future Me feature is entirely optional

8. Children's Privacy

Dream Self is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
